Under 70 kilogram will be interesting to see if Edith Bosch can keep her head together after she lost her semi final of the European Championships in Düsseldorf after she had been disqualified after an illegal move. Although she appeared not to have the same judgment, she didn’t even get bronze medal bout and will have some ‘hidden’ feelings of revenge of she might meet the currentEuropean champion Rasa Sraka from Slovenia. She has had a very good year and won nearly everything and is in fact a biggest favourite than Bosch. Last two confrontations Sraka won, the meetings before Bosch was the most strong. Bosch might have better historical papers but never became European champion. She was world champion twice in the juniors and became European junior champion three times. So this promised something for her career, but it’s time we can finally be the judge of that.
I bet that some girls, doesn’t like her ambition and definitely want to beat the winner of Fukuoka. So Bosch knows how to win in Japan. The other pirate like Olympic and former world champion Sibelis Veranes from Cuba knows when to peak. British Kate Howey who lost the Sydney Olympic final to Veranes will try to get in touch with the top. Howey, born on the same date as Bosch, but seven years before has been world champion already in 1997 but shouldn’t be considered as real title favourite, but can certainly won from someone who could get far on paper. Like Spanish Cecilia Blanco who lost in an early stage at the Europeans from Bosch. Perhaps the Japanese contender can surprise the European favourites. And how far will African Lea Zahoui Blavo come this time. She’s definitely a hard job and became 7th in Munich.
